Qualifications Of The Editor, Press Representative And Freelance Journalist:
15. Qualifications of the Editor, Press Representative and Freelance
Journalist:
The following qualifications shall be required to be an editor, the press representative or the freelance journalist:
(1) To be an editor:
(a) One who has passed a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from the educational institute recognized by Government
of Nepal, or
(b) One who has passed the School Leaving Certificate from the educational institute recognized by Government of
Nepal and has worked at least Ten years in relation to news collection and editing in any news based daily, half weekly, weekly or half-monthly newspaper or magazine.
(2) To be a press representative or a temporary press representative:
(a) One who has passed the School Leaving Certificate from the educational institute recognized by Government of
Nepal, or
(b) One who has worked at least Five years on news collection and reporting.
(3) To be a freelance journalist:
(a) One who has passed a Bachelor’s Degree on journalism from any educational institute recognized by Government
of Nepal and has worked for a period of up to Ten or more than Ten years in editing or column writing in the
newspaper and magazine.
(b) One who has passed a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from any educational institute recognized by Government
of Nepal and has worked for a period of up to Fifteen or more than Fifteen years in editing or column writing in
any newspaper or magazine.
Journalist:
The following qualifications shall be required to be an editor, the press representative or the freelance journalist:
(1) To be an editor:
(a) One who has passed a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from the educational institute recognized by Government
of Nepal, or
(b) One who has passed the School Leaving Certificate from the educational institute recognized by Government of
Nepal and has worked at least Ten years in relation to news collection and editing in any news based daily, half weekly, weekly or half-monthly newspaper or magazine.
(2) To be a press representative or a temporary press representative:
(a) One who has passed the School Leaving Certificate from the educational institute recognized by Government of
Nepal, or
(b) One who has worked at least Five years on news collection and reporting.
(3) To be a freelance journalist:
(a) One who has passed a Bachelor’s Degree on journalism from any educational institute recognized by Government
of Nepal and has worked for a period of up to Ten or more than Ten years in editing or column writing in the
newspaper and magazine.
(b) One who has passed a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from any educational institute recognized by Government
of Nepal and has worked for a period of up to Fifteen or more than Fifteen years in editing or column writing in
any newspaper or magazine.
